As the Senior Data Engineer, you will be an integral member of the product team as you will have direct input into the growing space of remote sensing.

Betterview’s Lab system is a Python based microservices architecture wherein a complex workflow is required to build and gather datasets, build classifiers, and evaluate them in an efficient repeatable way. Betterview seeks a talented engineer that can work with Betterview’s Data Science and Machine Learning teams to continue to build out that infrastructure and support its continued use.


  • Working on a stack of Python/PostgreSQL/PostGIS and messaging/microservices architecture.
  • Keeping tickets up to date and maintain a steady rate of development.
  • Working with Betterview’s partners to integrate their products with Betterview’s to improve machine learning dataset label creation.
  • Writing code that brings machine learning classifiers to life including dataset generation auto train systems and automatic evaluation systems to keep Betterview improving at a fast clip.



  • Experience in highly scalable systems, including messaging and microservices systems.
  • Experience in SQL (some form of relational database, BV uses PostgreSQL, but others translate well).
  • Python experience in an application development frame here is a must.
  • Experience working with third party SDKs and Web Services.
  • Some experience with Kubernetes is a plus.

  • Has experience working with messaging and microservices architecture.
  • Has excellent communication skills – spoken word, written word, grammar and spelling.
  • Utilizes strong problem-solving skills.
  • Understands that customer service – internal and external – is key
