The Role

Metropolis is seeking a Machine Learning Embedded Engineer to contribute to the development of machine learning projects that will empower our application deployment on Edge devices. You will be responsible for developing, optimizing, and managing various embedded applications by identifying inefficiencies and solving these problems by using hardware accelerators and optimizing the inference pipeline on edge devices. 

The platform you build will accelerate the life cycle of our product and provide a foundation for the workflow of embedded engineers. Key Responsibilities

  • Work with the machine learning team to build a scalable and reliable infrastructure and tool.
  • Collaborate with the application development team to integrate the computer vision models with the existing backend systems.
  • Optimize, Build and deploy machine learning projects.
  • Drive and improve version control strategies for data and code.
  • Build monitoring and evaluation tools for real-time optimization of the application using hardware accelerators.
  • Write maintainable and high-quality code across our pipelines.
  • Think big, and explore divergent concepts/ideas while understanding how to converge and build iteratively towards the goals of the machine learning team.
  • Inspire the entire team (including your cross-functional) partners by bringing new ideas to the table.
  • Help with hiring and onboarding of engineers to the machine learning team

Requirements and Qualifications

  • 4+ years of experience in modern software design and development.
  • 3+ years of experience with C++. Strong knowledge of C++ and OpenCV on Embedded systems.
  • 2+ years of experience with OpenCV, CUDA, and Nvidia Edge devices.
  • 1+ years of experience with distributed/scalable systems infrastructure to operate algorithms as a software product.
  • 1+ years of experience in optimizing C++ code and deep learning framework for Edge device deployment.
  • Excited about working in a fast-paced, dynamic startup environment.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Knowledge of AWS SDK C++, CloudWatch, S3
  • Knowledge of GoogleTest and Gmock framework
  • Knowledge of TensorRT and CUDA
  • Understanding of cameras is a plus
